Hashtag relationship goals! Ayesha and Steph Curry have one of the most enviable celebrity relationships. The cook and entrepreneur, Ayesha Curry, says she enjoys family time and cute matching holiday jammies — the photos we all gush over! However, she gives the secret to how she and the NBA superstar Steph Curry keep their family and marriage strong behind the scenes.
Ayesha, 29, told HelloGiggles.com that her recipe for love is an old and traditional rule passed down from her parents and in-laws who advised her and Steph, 30, to “always prioritize their relationship over their children.”
“The biggest thing,” said Ayesha Curry, “both of our parents are still married and have been married for 30-plus years, and the one thing that they both shared with us—some through learning it the hard way, some through just making sure that they do it—is just making sure that we put each other first, even before the kids, as tough as that sounds,” she continued

This was my insta top 9!!! So crazy that some of my favorite moments of the year were y’alls too! All of my heartbeats. Thanks for following along on this crazy life journey with us. We always imagined a beautiful life together but never imagined we would be blessed to live this life. #currypartyoffive
Steph and Ayesha have been married for nearly eight years and dated long before that. They make sure that they always have time for one another. The couple has two daughters, Riley and Ryan, and a son, Canon.
“Putting ourselves first, and making sure that we make time for date nights and for each other,” says Aeysha. “That’s been very important, as hard as it is,” the 29-year-old said. “Because when you become a parent, you want to put your kids first, and we do, but we do it second to our relationship. Because ultimately, when our relationship is good, the kids are happy and they’re thriving and our family life is good. We have to put that into perspective and realize that it’s not us being selfish, it’s making sure we set a strong foundation.”
Ayesha also says that having open communication with her husband is important!
The two met when they were just teenagers, brought together by faith. They met the church youth-group in Charlotte, NC. Ayesha told People Magazine:
“He was the cute boy at church that all of the girls were obsessed with, so I made a generalization that maybe he wasn’t for me.” On the flip side, Steph harbored a crush. “I always had my eye on her, but I got a little shaken, for sure,” he told Parents magazine in 2016.
Steph also courted Ayesha the traditional way.
“Shortly after we got married, I found out we were pregnant with Riley. She was a borderline honeymoon baby,” Ayesha said. “That became my next move. I struggled with that for a while.”
Since, they have always put their love first. Ayesha and Steph have matching tattoos of two arrows pointing at each other.
“This signifies that the past is behind us and the future is in front of us, so we stay in the middle, in the moment,” he has said. They even have a pregame ritual: “I smack my tattoo and she does the same.”
