Tiffany Haddish Says, “I Never Sold Myself as Being Perfect” When Addressing Her New Year’s Eve Stage Bomb.

Inquiring minds would like to know what was on the beloved Comedienne Tiffany Haddish’s mind after she completely bombed her New Years Eve stand-up performance in Miami. We were sold after Girls Trip – her claim to fame – when learning of her raw and unfiltered humor we’ve now grown to love.

Well, in a recent interview with Shadow & Act, Haddish talks about her performance that night and says fans can only expect so much from her.

“I’m going to make mistakes. I’m a human being, I’m not perfect and I never sold myself as being perfect,” Haddish said. “I never came out like, ‘I’m the most dopest, most wonderful.’”

Haddish explained before her show that she was a hungover.

 “I partied all night. I partied all morning…I’m about to do this show tonight… Ciroc is still in my system.”

Later on after performing, videos went viral of Haddish’s performance – one audience member had her on video and explained that she was just hanging and drinking with her fans. Some of the audience members heckled and booed the comedian with some even leaving the theater altogether.

Haddish, 38, later apologized to fans after clips of her performance went viral.

“Yes, this happened,” she said. “I wish it was better, Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happen again.”

It appears that her actions that night are a part of what makes her Tiffany Haddish! That night she openly told fans that she forgot her lines and that they would just drink and chill. However, her authenticity is what keeps fans returning to her comedy.  And in a society that pressures women to be perfect, Haddish reveals that she’s not!

Haddish gave her story in an interview with Dr. Oz last Oct. about the work it required for her to make it. Sitting in front of the audience, the star broke down and explained her self-esteem issues and that she has been on the stand up circuit for over 20 years.

“I didn’t start popping in the eyes of Hollywood until 2017,” she explained.

Comedian Kevin Hart also spoke about her in an interview with Times magazine

“I first met Tiffany Haddish on the comedy scene 13 years ago. She was young, raw and funny, almost like she didn’t have a care in the world….That’s when I found out she was homeless and living in that car. I didn’t know the details of her life at the time, but I knew she had talent, I knew she had drive, and I wanted to help,” said Kevin Hart.

One thing that is evident about the Girl’s Trip star is that her story in tangible and she doesn’t deny that the road to success will easy!
